Peck Park offers a multitude of things to do when your bored children need to run off some energy!! It is also a great place for the big kids with picnic spots, basketball courts and open area for flying kites.
A huge recreation center offers a variety of activities and in the summer, the Peck Park Pool offers a place for the kids and family to cool off from the hot sun.
This is one of San Pedro's most beautiful parks. With wide expanse of lawn, aged trees and different levels of landscape, these make for a wonderful journey into exploring nature within city limits.
We were fortunate that the park was just down the street from my childhood home and my first school, Crestwood Elementary. It provided a great free field trip for the students and was within walking distance which made it good for the school too.
Many weekends and holidays were spent there, enjoying the picnic areas and hiking through the ravines.
Located on Western Avenue at Crestwood Street, there is a busy shopping center on one side and the boulevard bustling with city travelers on the other, but once in the park all that goes unnoticed.
A paved trail leads to a beautiful ravine lined with trees, singing birds of all varieties, and a peacefulness that is hard to describe. This is truly a place to get in touch with nature and relax after a busy week.
This park will always hold a special place in my heart for the memories of family outings and good old-fashioned fun.
Traveling north on Western Avenue and taking a left turn on Weymouth Avenue, another beautiful park sits nestled within a cozy neighborhood at Averill Park Drive and Dodson Avenue.Averill Park is a peaceful family park and a wonderful choice for the perfect wedding location.
