The Peninsula Map..this artist's rendition
This Peninsula Map is this artist's rendition of the San Pedro and the Palos Verdes Peninsula, highlighting the points of interest mentioned throughout this site.
San Pedro is in a very unique location, nestled on the southern side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula at Los Angeles County's most western edge.
It is a suburb only 25 miles from downtown, but seems worlds away. Both the 110 Freeway and Western Avenue run from San Pedro into downtown Los Angeles.
The 110 (Harbor Freeway) ends at Gaffey St., and except for these downtown neighborhoods, most of the areas are not freeway close like most Los Angeles suburbs.
Nor are they subject to major highways like other parts of L.A., which adds to its appeal.
This map shows all the sights I have included in this site starting from the southern end at Ports O'Call working our way along the coastal route and ending at Pt. Vincente Lighthouse.
I will be highlighting in future pages, the Palos Verdes side of the Peninsula. We will pick up our tour from the lighthouse and continue north to Malaga Cove, so keep checking back.
